I’m really digging these shoes.

The first ones are akin to that nerdy number grandmas everywhere don…maybe a little cuter and less orthopedic. The second remind me of fancy lounge slippers. I need a cigar perhaps…and some good scotch.
No but really, J.Jill carries Marais shoes too? Am I just getting older and assimilating to their projected demographic, or are they getting more hip to the game?

I’ve got a crankpot dachshund whining to sit in my lap, so I’ll have to let these ruffles speak for themselves. Shakuhachi’s collection makes me feel all fluttery inside, really.

All pieces available for purchase at NYC’s very own Pixie Market.
[Editors Note: Shakuhachi is Japanese for a traditional bamboo wind-blown flute…although I think this designer hails from Australia. Flute or no flute, this collection is wind-blown worthy in my book. Hello?! How cute are those shorty-shorts?]

Was making myself crack up earlier thinking of some cheeky tag for this post. How does Parkas Cozy strike you? Get it? Not enough immediate reference? Think John Waters…yeah…
Anyhow, bravo for Woolrich Woolen Mills and their very understated, yet classically refined outerwear series. I spied the femme version of this coat over the weekend on some hapless black-friday shopper.
His version available at Stylebop, hers too.
Stay tuned for more va-va-voom coat roundups.
Llamas are attracted to shiny things, and so am I. My ohmygodilovethis! radar went off the charts when I spied these light-refracting suits. Reminds me a little of Mad Men’s whole “Are you a Marilyn or a Jackie?” Playtex bra campaign. I am especially enamored of the Little Mermaid suit (no. 2) below. Can you tell I’m super excited about the pending NY winter??

{No. 1} Italian Futurism Trikini, $317

{No. 2} Little Mermaid, $317

{No. 3} Zigzag Sequins Swimsuit, $189

{No. 4} White Mermaid, $317

{No. 5} Little Black Bikini, $177
Caracola’s Italian Futurism collection is inspired by Fritz Lang’s film Metropolis as well as the writings of Alberto Marinetti. The collection is based upon structured geometric silhouettes with play in symmetries. Sequins serve as ornamental overlays, ultimately attracting the eye to the wearer’s feminine form.
Caracola is based out of Monterrey, Mexico. Check out more of the collection HERE.

Remember my post about Kneeland Co., the LA-based company that serves as a physical mood board/inspiration point for all you stylist-designer types?? Well, I was happy to see that founder/owner Joanna Williams was featured on artist Jeana Sohn’s blog in a very intimate photo-essay about her very well-curated closet…gasp.

Such a stylish gal! Pop on over to Jeana Sohn’s blog for more beautiful photos and a lovely little q&a.
