So after much whining and nagging on my end, and lots of patience and focus on the bf’s fame+frippery 2.0 has been born! All my images are HUGE…including this one. Incidentally I showed this snap to KB, and he replied “isn’t that a bit racy?” Um..no! What says new launch better than a contortionist in a sequin bikini and go-go boots on a shag rug with a typewriter?

Enjoy!!! And while you’re at it, give a girl some feedback? As my thanks, I’m hosting my very first giveaway. I’ve got five pairs of these babies up for grabs.

{above} vintage flower baubles and filagree drop earrings (note: color and style of flower bauble varies)

Here’s the deal. For your chance to win these f+f originals, do one (or both) of the following:

  1. Post a comment telling me what you think of the new site design and why you want these earrings.
  2. Tweet this post!

Winners will be selected Wednesday the 12th, so good luck!

The Cookies For Kids’ Cancer bake sale held last week was a sweeping success. We raised a little over 11.5K, and with OXO and Glad’s corporate matches taken into account amounts to a whopping 46K!!! Truly, truly amazing…and all for pediatric cancer research.

None of this would have been possible without the help of all our amazing sponsors and the at-home baking task force who donated so many fabulous goodies. I thought I’d venture into a little photo essay illustrating some of our sweet treats, and even sweeter volunteers:

{above, clockwise} 1. cupcake shots from Tonnie’s Minis located in Harlem, NY, 2. bakery donations chair…yours truly, 3. pennant carrot cake cupcakes donated by Smart Design, 4. our rapidly self-filling “milk glass” indicating monetary milestones

{above, clockwise} 1. the most delicious banana bread made with bacon drippings donated by Lauren Utvich of Dixie Spanish, (also the winner of the Greenpoint Open Studios Pie Bake Off, with her southern temptress, Bourbon Bacon Pecan Pie…who says bacon can ever be passé?) , 2. sinfully good chocolate-chip cookies donated by Lincoln, Chef Jonathan Benno’s (formerly of Per Se) latest and greatest restaurant venture 3. a happy CFKC volunteer

{above, clockwise} 1. Seedy Bird Granola in harvest medley (a favorite of OXO gals due to its lack of icky oil and abundance of good things, like flax seed and agave), 2. decadent blackout cake from Park Slope’s own Ladybird Bakery, 3. yummy homemade chocolate cupcakes from OXO’s fusion bay, 4. Valerie Whitney of Brooklyn Nom who baked up some fantastich pumpkin cake “pops” and hung around to work the sale for a few hours, xo
