Carl Sagen in the Kitchen
Somebody needs to buy this tea towel for me, now. And while you’re at it, be sure to take a gander at my favorite Carl Sagan/autotune vid.

Corey Lynn Calter Bridal Musings
I’ll tell you what, I love me some Corey Lynn Calter.
I had one of those divinely inspired shopping experiences once, where I was majorly wanting this CLC silk owl-printed skirt from Anthropologie, but couldn’t afford the $250+ pricetag…only to find it at Beacon’s Closet a few months later for a heart-stopping thirty smackers!
My shopping prowess aside, it’s been...

Sneak Peek: ila&i Pre-Spring Collection
Remember that darling rose gold and black diamond eternity band from my second engagement ring roundup? Welp, that was the handiwork of the Houston-based design studio, ila&i.
I got the inside scoop on their newest collection of baubles…feast your eyes on these beauts. Since I obviously have a thing for rose gold and black diamonds, I’m especially drawn to the first arrow...
So Pho-cking Cold Out
I’ve been quiet on the blogwaves this week. Too many social engagements, and a frozen wintry countenance.
Today I’ll be trying my hand at Steamy Kitchen’s beef pho recipe, and plotting some inspiring ditties for next week. (Putting my recent shipment of frozen meat to use, courtesy of my Aunt…)
Stay warm!

Favorite Things: Crappy Taxidermy
Alright, if you must know anything about me, it’s the fact that I have a serious love for taxidermy. Maybe it has something to do with my late grandpa being a swamp trapper in the bogs of Mississippi? Or maybe I just have a love for things that are stuffed (cupcakes? shells? full bellies?) I *might* have a deer hoof gun rack hanging in my living room…just saying.
All this...

Lisbon Hair Love
If ever I find myself in Lisbon, Portugal, youbetcha I’ll be hitting up this hair spot to fill the missing void in my hairstyling fantasies. These cuts are speaking to my soul…and I’m not just being dramatic. I’ve been looking for the perfect bitten bang look for ages, not to mention the countless bad haircuts I’ve received when trying to explain a proper euro...

Eleanor Meredith Illustrations
She wore a(n) itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka-dot bikini one-piece. Thinking non-snowy thoughts..
{above} Eleanor Meredith’s charming limited edition Only Swimming print. Also available in pink. Aren’t wobbily drawn limbs the best? These in particular remind me of some my dear friend Cassandra used to pen.

Trendcasting: Big in 2011
Remember that widely accepted baby blue and brown combo from years past (seemingly the Jonathan Adler enthusiasts of the world still can’t seem to get away from)? I want to blame this paired monstrosity on Pantone, but who knows if they’re really at fault. After all, people (and their propensity for new trends) are like lemmings right?
This year Pantone announced the 2011 color of...

Shiny & New (Giveaway Too!)
So after much whining and nagging on my end, and lots of patience and focus on the bf’s fame+frippery 2.0 has been born! All my images are HUGE…including this one. Incidentally I showed this snap to KB, and he replied “isn’t that a bit racy?” Um..no! What says new launch better than a contortionist in a sequin bikini and go-go boots on a shag rug with a...
Coming Soon!
I put the finishing touches on the f+f redesign this morning. I can hardly contain my anticipation and excitement! It’s been handed over he who codes. For now, things will be quiet, but stay tuned for its grand reveal, hopefully sometime in the next week or so.

Facto! Facto!
Kb just built Facto! today. It amazes me sometimes how effortlessly he pumps out these apps, in less than 24 hours no less. Its already gotten something like 6,000 uniques today. Chuck Norriz signed up too.
Facto! is simple. Type a fact about yourself (go through a painless 30 second sign-up) and share your fact with others. I hear version 2.0 will include a “yup, this is true” or...
Ruminating on the Past and Future...
What I accomplished in 2010:
Went almost completely caffeine free. (Sure I’ve had some accidental slip ups here and there, and yes, I still enjoy chocolate, but my coffee habits are strictly decaffeinated.)
Designed the Dutchmill Garden and Brooklyn Contra logos.
Became interested in floral design.
Developed a more secure sense of my styling/prop mistress abilities.
Rounded up fifty...
